God Rolls - Destiny Dungeons, New World Declines, Cyberpunk Delay
Big week ahead...
Welcome to another week of God Rolls where I am so exhausted I almost skipped it, but I didn’t want to let down the 32% of you who actually open this email. Gamepocalypse holiday release season is upon us, as is the release of a zillion movies and TV shows I need to see.
What I’m Playing: I think I am now legally allowed to tell you that I have been playing a ton of Guardians of the Galaxy, but I am not allowed to say anything about it until Monday morning. Besides that, it’s been the New World grind with my new Cool Kid streamer server with Goth and Gladd and Courage and all them, now that transfers got activated.
What I’m Watching: God I am so behind. Things I need to watch or catch up on - Foundation, Invasion, Succession, Locke and Key, The Sinner, Night Teeth, The Night House, Titane. Christ.
Alright, let’s go.
‘Destiny 2’ Doesn’t Need The Power Grind At All Anymore - Probably my most controversial piece of the week as I try to explain why the central power grind in Destiny has become extremely unnecessary.
‘Destiny 2’ Is Buffing Whisper, Nerfing Mythoclast Acceptably - We have gotten some more big hints about the nerfs and buffs coming in the December patch.
Why It’s Harder Than Ever To Recommend ‘Destiny 2’ To New Players - Despite an overall increase in quality, talking about why it’s become so hard to recommend to new or returning players at this point.
Destiny 2’s Dungeon Drama Is More About Confusion Than Cost - The largest meta-controversy of the week was about dungeons being sold separately in the game for the first time.
Three Weeks Later, New World’s Playercount Is Barely Half Its Peak - New World had a smashing start, but it’s already lost half its players not even a month in. Why?
‘Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ Reveals Character Classes, Enemies, Spells, Melee Weapons - I am extremely excited for this and everything I hear about it makes me want to play more.
‘Fortnite’ Releases Awesome ‘Resident Evil’ Jill Valentine And Chris Redfield Skins - Say what you will about Fortnite but they are making some sick collaboration skins, including this new RE one.
CDPR Delays PS5, Xbox Series X ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Update To 2022 - Surprising absolutely no one, CDPR has delayed the next-gen Cyberpunk 2077 release to Q1 2022.
Talking about what I feel is the last Destiny 2 candy farm that is not going to be nerfed like the others:
More of my thoughts on the great dungeon controversy of the week:
Oh yeah, Elden Ring got delayed to be three days after Witch Queen. Less than ideal:
Finally, Evie poses the question, “how many toys is too many toys?”
Answer: Never enough toys, all of which must be out of the toy bin at all times.
See ya soon.
